In keeping with my recent posts about my trip to Texas, today I’m bringing you a spin on the Take It or Leave It game and I’m doing it Texas style. I’m calling this month’s installment “Did I or Didn’t I.”
The rules are the same (Post your guesses in the comments section below. I will post my responses on Thursday the 14th. The person with the most correct guesses is my winner, but you must post another comment in the comments section, acknowledging that you are a winner, in order to claim your prize. It’s that simple. Unclaimed prizes will be forfeited after one week from posting the answers.)
So, here you go. For the following list of things, did I do it or not do it?
1. Wander the corridors of the historic and haunted Menger Hotel looking for ghosts?
2. Buy something at a smoke shop?
3. Take a picture inside the Alamo long barracks?
4. Participate in the topless experience?
5. Have lunch with a cute guy from the Ukraine (I know, weird)?
6. Tour Ripley’s Believe It or Not?
7. Come home with my first ever shiner?
8. Bring home a piece of rock from inside the Alamo shrine?
9. Feed the ducks on the Riverwalk?
10. Cut in line to get on the boat tour?
So, obviously, I visited the Alamo. The picture at the top is one of the many I took (is that a clue?). And, based on last week’s post, I did enjoy some time on the Riverwalk. But, how wild and crazy and adventurous did I really get? And how rebellious was I? That’s up to you to decide. I can’t wait to see your guesses.
Overall I had a very nice visit and would go back for more thrills. How about you dear readers, have you ever been to San Antonio? What the most crazy, wild or adventurous thing you’ve ever done on vacation? Please share, I love to know I’m not alone in my escapades, legal or otherwise.
Word of the day: Yegg (this is a fun one)
Fun face about me: I like to do cross stitch crafts.

OMG, y’all had SO MUCH FUN. I’m still sad to have missed it. Stupid hip…

Thanks Jenny. Despite the heat I had a fabulous time. I wish you could have been there too. Tameri and some of her San Diego gang let me hang with them Friday night. We had a blast!
Thanks for visiting.

My favorite game! But these are super-hard questions, and now that you’ve been detained at the airport under suspicious circumstances, I’m no longer certain of your character. Still, I’ll guess my best.
1. I hope so! Hunting for ghosties sounds like too much fun.
2. Um…sure?
3. Yes! (Did I get the clue right? It is Monday, after all).
4. Not sure what the topless experience is, but my guess is no.
5. Don’t see why you wouldn’t have lunch with a cute guy from the Ukraine. I once spent the afternoon on vacation with a very strange Australian guy. He was funny, but not cute, so I guess it balances out.
6. I believe it.
7. Nah. I bet you’ve had a shiner before.
8. Stealing from a shrine? Could go either way on this one, but I’ll say no. You didn’t have room in your suitcase for rocks, anyway. Too many books.
9. I bet you slipped ’em a crumb or two.
10. Now, that would just be rude. So no.
I went to Hawaii with my BFF years ago. We went on a snorkeling trip, my BFF had a panic attack when she thought a wolf eel was after her, a creepy guy propositioned us for our own photographic “topless experience” (we kindly passed), we then missed the bus, and had to bum our way back into the city since we didn’t bring any cash with us. Ah. Good times.

And you think you know me? Based on those answers, I’m not so sure. But, chin up, you got at least one right! (I’m such a tease.) We’ll see you Thursday for the big reveal.
Thanks for sharing your Hawaii story. I’m glad I’m not the only one with interesting experiences to share. Chased by an eel? That’s a good one.

Hi Jennette! Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by with your guesses.
We’ll see you back here on Thursday to see how you did.
If you get a chance to visit San Antonio, don’t miss the Alamo it was certainly worth the time (and it’s free to visit).

Love the Riverwalk! We have done the Alamo too. Such a great city. I bet you did all those things.Mmmm…..Shiner beer. Unless you mean a black eye!

Hi Phil and thanks for stopping by. I too am now an advocate of the Riverwalk. Did you catch the shiner beer reference? Or was I in an altercation? Hmmm. I’ll post my answers below.
Have a great rest of the week.

Late, but had to stop in and see your word of the day. I like saying Yegg. Never heard of it, and I have a degree in criminal justice! Glad you all had so much fun. 🙂

Hi Coleen and thanks for swinging by. I’m sorry you didn’t leave your guesses, as there was still time to get in on the action.
I liked the definition of Yegg. Kind of fun. And now you know another new word, courtesy of muah!

Okay, it’s Thursday – reveal day! Are you as excited as me? I will start by saying that I was a little sneaky this month. I’d like to say I’m sorry, but I’m really not. I just like messing with ya and keeping you on your toes.
So here you go:
#1 – This would be a take or a did it! I love looking for ghosts.
#2 – This would also be a take or did it, but it’s probably not what you’re all thinking. I purchased some pipe tobacco for my sweetheart who is a pipe smoker. It was called Texas Ranger. How cool is that?
#3 – Leave – did not do. Taking pictures anywhere inside the buildings at the Alamo is strictly forbidden and since most of it is a shrine, that would just be so wrong. This time, I played by the rules.
#4 – I did indeed take the topless tour; however, it did not involve removing any clothing. You see the topless tour is a double-decker bus tour with the top level being the convertible experience, ergo, topless. I did not ride up there because it was too freaking hot and I do not recommend this tour as it is a big waste of money.
#5 – Yes I did have lunch – sort of – with a cute guy from the Ukraine. You see, he was our waiter, but he spent so much time at our table I felt like he should sit down and eat with us.
#6 – I did not visit Ripley’s Believe It Or not.
#7 – I did not come home with a shiner either on my face or in my suitcase. You see Shiner Bock is the local beer of choice.
#8 – No. I did not bring home a rock, or anything else except memories, from inside the Alamo shrine. (Not that I didn’t consider it.)
#9 – I did not feed the ducks. There were signs posted EVERYWHERE asking people to please not feed the ducks. Again, I obliged. I know, not my usual style, but keep in mind it was ridiculously hot and I was a bit out of character because of it.
#10 – Yes I did cut in line on the boat tour, but I had everyone’s permission to do so. You see, the boat in dock at the time only had 2 seats left and all of the people waiting in front of me belonged to larger parties. They all agreed that I should take the last available seat. Score! And, by the way, I highly recommend this tour. It’s only 8 bucks and it’s relaxing and fun.
So there you have it. I was only a little bit feisty. I’m sorry if I’ve disappointed you all.
Here’s how you did:
CJ and Phil each got 5 right.
Suzanne and Jennette each got six right.
That means we have a tie. You ladies have one week from today to let me know, here in the comments, that you’re a winner and I will forward your awesome prize!
Thank you everyone for playing along. Until next time – stay cool!
