I know what you’re thinking – bizi what? Biziversary. Yes, that’s a made up word. I thought of it all by myself, but I think it might catch on and some day make it into the urban dictionary.
Biziversary. Let’s break it down: part 1; biz, short for business – part 2; iversary, annual celebration of something important, in our case, the Rickrodes buying The Baer House Inn. That’s right – it’s our biziversary. We’ve owned The Baer House now for a year!
Can you believe it? It’s been a whole year and I’m still loving it as much as I did that very first day. So much has happened over the past twelve months. Among other things, we’ve had 6 weddings, conducted dozens of home tours, increased our rating on Trip Advisor from below number 10 to number 2 in Vicksburg, entertained several private parties, held multiple day seminars, cooked countless breakfasts, and been recognized in our little community with a very special award.

I’d like to thank all of the guests who’ve stayed with us for the past 52 weeks. It’s been fun having you here some of you on more than one occasion. Getting to know you and being part of your travel plans or weekend get-aways, be they large or small has been an honor. And thanks to all of my friends, real, imagined, or cyber for their love and support in this grand venture we undertook. Our hearts are filled with joy and humbleness when we think of you and how you’ve helped us succeed.
So, here’s to another year of greatness! Thank you Vicksburg for welcoming us. We look forward to our continued participation in this wonderful place we call home.
Do you have a favorite travel place or stop-over destination on long-haul trips? Do you stay in bed and breakfast inns? Do you celebrate a biziversary?
Word of the Day: Wayzgoose
Fun fact about me: I honestly have no idea what that word of the day means. I could never use it in a sentence. But, it’s fun to say.

Congratulations on your biziversary. Love the word. I don’t generally look for B & B’s but the next time I go to visit cousins in Atlanta I intend to work in a stop with you.

Congrats on your one year at owning the Inn. Time really flies by, doesn’t it. I do have the top of the quilt done so don’t give up on me. It will arrive one of these days. So far everyone has liked it. It’s really hot out in my office so I’ve slowed down on the sewing. 🙂

Hey Miss Paisley. I’m looking forward to getting the quilt. I’m afraid I may end up liking it so much I’ll have to keep it instead of putting it for sale in the gift shop. Either way, I look forward to its arrival when it’s ready. It’s like a book, don’t send it out into the world until it’s ready.
And, I know what you mean about the heat. It’s pretty warm down here too. I try to get outside and walk around a little bit each day, but lately I’ve had to wait until almost dark before it’s bearable.
Oh well, I’d rather be too hot than too cold.
Good to see you my dear. Thanks for the kind words. Have a great week.

Aw, Suzanne, you’re so sweet. We have been working hard that’s for sure. It’s like anything else, if you want to be successful you have to work at it and you have to think and act like a successful person. Hopefully that same attitude will reap the same results in my writing career one of these days.
As always, so good to see your smiling face. Enjoy the rest of your summer break. I imagine you’ll be going back to school pretty soon.
Thanks for your support and friendship.

Thanks for the encouragement and support. The year has flown by and I’m looking forward to many more exciting things in the future. Even the endless piles of laundry aren’t such a big deal. Speaking of which . . .
As always, enjoy the rest of your week.

Some day you’ll get here Clay, I have no doubt. It’s not like we’re going anywhere anytime soon either, so when the time is right, it’ll happen.
I’m so glad you take the time to look up my words. I have fun finding them. Wayzgoose is a fun one.

Congrats, Patricia! Always fun to read about your adventures–I can’t believe it’s been a year already. Thanks for another interesting word. I’m celebrating waysgoose in that I’m glad that I don’t have to work by candlelight in the fall/winter. With my eyes not much would get done. 😉 Hope you’re having a great week.

Isn’t waysgoose a fun word? So glad you were able to use it in a sentence, too. You’re awesome that way.

Congratulations on your Biziversary! What a year you’ve had … and kudos to you and your husband for all the dedicated hard labour you’ve put in to make Baer House a success. I know it doesn’t happen without blood, sweat and even a few tears … may the latter always be of happiness! Perhaps you should convince your local papers to have a wayzgoose evening at Baer House! Onward!
