Yes, I’m doing it again. I’m posting odd, bizarre, strange, weird facts that will boggle your minds. And, because I believe no zany fact is ever complete without my obscure and witty commentary, I’ve added that for your enjoyment. Feel free to pass along these tidbits of information to your friends and loved ones.Â
Without further ado, let the crazy begin:
The Hawaiian alphabet has 12 letters; (And I think most of them are vowels.)
The first novel ever written on a typewriter was Tom Sawyer; (God bless Mark Twain)
There are more collect calls on Father’s Day than any other day of the year; (Probably ungrateful children asking for money.)
It is possible to lead a cow upstairs, but not downstairs; (That is why we never see 2-story dairy barns.)
You can’t hum while holding your nose closed; (Go ahead try it. I did.)
The only President of the United States to ever be awarded a patent was Abraham Lincoln, for a system of bouying vessels over shoals; (Not sure what kind of vessels he was bouying but he holds the patent for doing it. And over shoals at that!)
The only bird that can fly backwards is the hummingbird; (And how impressive that is to watch.)
Iceland consumes more Coca-Cola per capita than any other nation; (Thus, the polar bear mascot.)
About 150 people per year are killed by coconuts; (True fact. That is why on Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, they have an entire team devoted to removing coconuts from the trees every single day before cruise ships arrive.)
A woman from California once tried to sue the makers of Cap’n Crunch because the crunch berries contained “no berries of any kind.” (California – need I say more?)
Your chances of dying on the way to get lottery tickets is greater than your chance of winning; (That’s why I never play the lottery. I don’t wanna die yet.)
A ten-gallon hat will only hold 3/4 of a gallon. (Don’t tell Texas.)
So, there you have it my friends, this week’s dose of oddball information. Use it wisely. You never know when one of these little gems will come in handy.
Do you like trivia? Do you avoid palm trees for fear of being beaned in the head by a coconut? Do you like Cap’n Crunch cereal?
Word of the day: Fulgurate
Fun fact about me: I secretly want to have a Princess party so I have an excuse to get me one of those beautiful yellow dresses that Belle wore in the movie.

Who NEEDS to make a collect call now???
My fav restaurant in Paducah, before it went out of business which was a tragedy, was The Stranded Cow. The cow was stranded on the upstairs porch/balcony during the 37 flood. I’m not sure how they got it down.
Fun Fact About Me: I’m just the one to throw you that party because I’d love to wear a dressy-dress like that too! Shall we go for your bday next year (if only I’d known sooner) or do you have another life-event in mind? I know this GREAT B&B that could host it! 😉

The Stranded Cow? I absolutely LOVE that! Probably had to build a ramp to get the cow down. Or hire a crane. Or just kill it and make burgers to sell in the restaurant.
I say we plan a girly-girl princess party at the Baer House just for the hell of it!
Thanks for stopping by and spreading the love.

Yes, let’s DO plan the girly party! I’m gone the last week of April. Well, probably the last 2 weekends as well. How’s May look for you? My birthday is in May! 😉 Just sayin’ …

Ha! I loved all the random information. I love coconut, but I had no idea it was a killer. Gah! And I love you used Lindsey Stirling in a meme!! Have a great week. 🙂

Lindsey Stirling just for you my friend. As I used Georgio just for my pal Meshea. She didn’t comment on it though. It’s our secret weird thing. We don’t like to talk about aliens and such in public.
Fun facts for your file of useless information.
Have a great week. Has it stopped snowing yet there?

Wait – I’ve gotten ahead of myself. Meshea’s meme isn’t until next Monday. I know she’ll comment about it.
Just wanted to clarify in case you were wondering what kind of idiocy I was spouting. You’ll see Georgio next week.

Excuse me while I fulgurate to the front door to see who’s ringing the bell.
Okay, now I want to know who gets inside of brains to measure things like where the sounds go. How do they know where I process anyone’s voice?
While I don’t doubt your research, I’m surprised Thomas Jefferson was never awarded a patent. He was a pretty ingenious guy. The 8-day clock in his entry hall and the doors from their into the parlor (or whatever the next room was) fascinated me. I love the way opening one door causes the other one to open. Same with closing them.
You and me both on the lottery tickets. I’ve never bought my first one.
Keep smiling and being an oddball. It helps.

You can fulgurate on my front porch any time, Dave. And, I have also wondered who conducts these studies? And why?
And . . . now I have to visit the home of Mr. Jefferson to see what the heck you’re talking about. Sounds fun.
Here’s smiling back at you my friend.

I like to find really obscure stuff. I’ve never looked any of it up by I have tried some of it; like holding my nose and humming. I do know about the coconut thing though, because I’m a Disney fanatic you know.
Can you believe someone actually expected real berries in Cap’n Crunch? Sheesh.
Have a great week.

Thank you. I hope you are enjoying the waning days of March. I keep telling my kids they need to learn everyday, I try to be a model for them. On break this week and it’s great. Odd bit of trivia – we are near the longest railroad bridge in the world, or at one time it was the longest in the world – Seven Mile Bridge. It’s a favorite visit of mine. Got lots more planned, but for now gonna finish reading my book! It’s all good. Enjoy your week.

Clay, I hope you enjoy your reading. That’s what breaks should be for.
You need to post a picture of that special bridge. Perhaps a blog post?
As always, thanks for visiting.
