Folks, we all know there’s a lot of negativity floating around the world today. It’s everywhere and social media is a super powered magnet for anyone to state their biased opinions without showing their faces to another human being. It’s cowardly if you think about it.
Anyone can be mean or stupid on social media because there is no force to be reckoned with for one’s actions. You don’t have to back up what you say or prove yourself to anyone. You can just post something, true or not, then slink away.
Even introverts boldly climb aboard soap boxes and proclaim their opinions loud and proud. I know for a fact, some of my “friends” would never say the things they say if actually sitting in a room full of people. In a person-to-person exchange, they’d quietly sit in the corner and hope nobody noticed them or nod their head and agree even if they didn’t.
Well, I for one am getting a little bit sick of it. I’m tired of people posting “fake news,” and photoshopped pictures, and I’m tired of others pointing fingers and calling people names because they state an opinion contrary to theirs. Opinions are not wrong people. And, I’m tired of seeing only one, very slanted side of every story.
So, I have stepped up my “hide the post” campaign. Anything political these days gets shut down from my feed. I don’t have an overwhelming NEED to feel like I’ve been “heard.” I have my opinions and they shall stay my opinions and I do understand that there are always two sides to every story and sometimes we just need to see something from a different perspective. Take a really good look and the drawing below and you’ll see what I mean. Three or Four or Both? Who’s right?
Now, since it’s been a while since we’ve heard from Kid President, I think it’s apropos to check with him on the subject. He always has a refreshing attitude about life. I hope you’ll agree.
What say you readers, are you tired of the cyber bickering and bullying? Does Kid President make some valid points? Do we need more Kid Presidents in the world?
Word of the Day: Capsaicin
Fun fact about me: I don’t like gardening.

You may be directing this post to me, since I’m not bashful about posting political items. I hope I’m not rude about it, though. I try to refrain from that, but it’s sometimes difficult to refrain when speaking about the hate-mongers and others who would destroy our Constitutional republic.
Like Capsaicin, the posts you’re talking about can be an irritant. I just hope I don’t irritate you, Patricia, because I value your friendship.

Dave, Dave, Dave – If you were doing something specifically that bothered me, I’d let you know (privately) and I know that you’d respect my position and refrain. This post is directed at everyone in general. I am as guilty as the next person. I tend to get passionate about things but I’m trying really hard to remember that my passion is just one side of the story. It’s so easy to get caught up in the social media frenzy of spewing every little thought to the entire universe. Sometimes it’s best to just keep things to yourself. After all, social media is not the way to sway anyone’s opinion so why waste the effort.
So, my friend, just keep doing what you do and I’ll keep doing what I do and we’ll continue our cyber friendship until the universe decides its time for us to actually meet face-to-face. Then we’ll be true friends as well.
Enjoy the holiday and have a great week.

I’m still planning to vote for Kid President…he’s wise beyond his years. I’m with you–I’m so done with enduring all those arguments laced with such disrespect. It IS possible to argue without putting the other person down, but most people seem to have forgotten how to do it. And you’re right with the cowardice in social media opinions. It’s a lot easier to publicly judge someone from a distance…and no particular consequences. But in case you forgot: cats are still better than dogs. 🙂 Keep on keeping on, girl!

WHATEVER.
You see how I respectfully addressed that? I’m learning. (Ha)
Yes, Kid President gets my vote for President. And whoever his speech writer is should go to the White House with him. Wouldn’t the world be a better place?
Thanks for stopping by on this holiday Monday. I hope you get some relaxation and good reading in today. Until next time – peace out. Dogs rule!
(I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself.)
