So this year Easter falls on April Fools Day. You’ve probably all seen this meme
I’m not normally one to appreciate pranks. In fact, I usually hate them. But, this guy is brilliant.
I love his made up words. And the definitions were even better. And, the best part, he did it with a straight face.
Well folks, the story does not end there. No sirree. This guy’s video went viral and that lead to this:
I love Ellen and I love that she gave him a spelling test. So perfect.
Have you seen this video before? Do you think this guy is clever? I think he’s probably an amazing teacher. And, he’s cute to boot. Do you like pranks? Are you one to go all out for April Fools? Come on, fess up and share the details.
Word of the Day: Ethamivan
Fun fact about me: I don’t think I’ve ever played an April Fool’s joke on anyone.

That looks and sounds like SO MUCH FUN. Love the word with silent letters at the end. Sadly, the opportunity to play April Fool’s pranks isnt there, maybe next year when 4/1 is a Monday. That would be fun to surprise my students with a fake quiz, especially to begin the last quarter of middle school. It would take a lot of planning and surprise. But this week, I am in spring break and enjoying the sounds of surf and sea gulls as well as the warmth of the sun. It feels good to relax and kick back with my family. Spring is here! Have a great week and stay warm!

Doesn’t that look like fun, Clay? I thought of you when I was watching this. Of course, it would be harder to pull off with students your age, but with 4 graders it works quite nicely. I love how he was just deadpan the entire way through.
I hope you enjoy your spring. I know lots of folks are still getting snow, but hopefully there’s an end in sight. We’re finally getting some great spring weather here. Azaleas are in peak season right now and it’s gorgeous with all the flowering trees as well.
Take care and have a great week!

My mum used to play april fools jokes on us. She was really convincing! She’d turn up with a shocked face and swear she just saw a fairy in the garden and let us run around searching for it. That kind of thing. It was really sweet, but I always felt so silly for falling for them!

You mum sounds like a sweet and fun lady. I’d have looked for a fairy too. I always feel silly when I fall for these little “tricks” but at least it was harmless fun.
Thanks for stopping by. I can’t wait to read about your next adventure.

OMG, that video is so precious. Every child should have a teacher like that guy. Thanks for sharing the video!
I’ve played an April Fool’s joke once or twice through the years. 😀 The most fun, of course, is when the person totally forgets what day it is. And I don’t mind when they’re played on me. I do love to laugh.
I wonder when the last time April Fools and Easter fell on the same day?

I have watched this video dozens of times and I still laugh at every word. He’s so creative and pulled it off with a totally straight face. The silent letters and hyphenated words killed me. I would have loved to have seen the expressions on the kids faces.
And, that is a very good question: when was the last time Easter fell on April Fool’s day? Google, here I come.
Thanks for visiting Sheila. Here’s a fun Sunday with lots of little tricks.

That teacher is awesome! And I love Ellen, too – she’s equally awesome. 🙂 I admit, I love pranks, both playing them and being played. When I was younger and had more free time, I used to plot and scheme pranks and take great delight in executing them. I should really take that up again…

Oh, a plotter and schemer. I’ll have to remember that. I was trying to think of a way to pull a prank on my inn guests this Sunday, but perhaps that won’t be a good idea. I’ll give them a bowl of something disgusting as their breakfast and tell them it’s a Danish delicacy or something. I don’t think I could pull that off, but I might try something. It might backfire and then I’ll be in trouble. Not everyone – ahem – appreciates a prank.
Thanks for stopping by. Here’s hoping Sunday is full of shenanigans.

Loved the guy and his video. Didn’t watch the 2nd video, because I cannot abide that woman.
I’ve never used Ethamivan because any breathing problems I have only occur when my heart is in atrial fibrillation, and it wouldn’t help that.

Isn’t he a creative and clever teacher? I’ll bet his students remember him for a very long time. Some teachers are great like that.
Here’s hoping you never have to use Ethamivan. Ever. Let’s keep the breathing problems to a minimum shall we?
Have a great week.

I share your fun fact. Although seems like husband and I told our daughter a whopper a few years ago, and she actually believed it for a while.
Maybe this year’s could be, whoops, no Easter dinner! (Since I’m hosting, as usual) LOL!

I’ve always said that people should eat rabbit for Easter dinner but nobody else thinks that’s a good idea. I want to do something “prankish” for my breakfast guests Easter morning, but I can’t think of anything at the moment. I’m sure not everyone will appreciate it, but it might be fun to try.
Here’s hoping you have a lovely Easter. At least get someone else to do the dishes and clean up.

How fun, and kudos to the teacher! My daughter and her husband are both high school teachers (one English, one math) and do what they can to keep the kids engaged. Giving submarine orders and graphing the outcome (my hubs was Navy) and a Gatsby party complete with homemade lemon cookies are two of the fun ones.
I haven’t played an April Fools’ prank in years. It’s just hubby and me at home, very quiet, but I ought to come up with something for breakfast.

I love it when teachers are creative! I hope their students appreciate their efforts, if not now, when they are older and remember back to their school days.
A Gatsby party sounds like a lot of work, but fun. You must have been fun parents if both of your children passed along these games to others. Yay you!
Thanks for visiting. Let me know if you come up with something fun for a breakfast prank.
