So I’m back in the saddle again. Sort of. I’m not galloping full speed ahead or anything, but I’m chugging along doing normal things. Sort of. I still get tired out but one step at a time. It’s the second Monday in a row that I haven’t had to see a medical professional, so that’s a very good thing.
I know it’s not a big deal to you guys, but I’ve managed to check a few things off my to do list. (Some of those things have been on that list since my diagnosis back in October by the way.) I’m back in the kitchen cooking breakfast for our guests. I can get through 2 or 3 tasks before needing to rest. I can read a whole chapter in a book without having to re-read anything. So, that’s all good.
And, I’ve even been able to concentrate enough to get back to those edits on my manuscript that’s been sitting since Fall. Yes, I’m still hoping to get that baby published sometime this summer or early Fall. Baby steps.
I have no idea what’s going on with my hair or when my finger and toe nails are going to stop doing whatever crazy dance their doing, but for the most part, I’m purging this chemo out of my body. And what a difference that makes, let me tell you.
It’s all about staying focused and positive. Sometimes that’s hard. I’ve been down for awhile but not out. I’ve been counting the days. I’m rising from the ashes. I’m moving forward. It’s time to get $#*% done.
Here’s a very short video motivational that should make you feel a little better. It did me. This little angel has some very special words of advice to anyone who needs a little pick me up or anyone who’s been thinking of giving up for whatever reason.
Happy Monday y’all! Here’s to many positive thoughts. I can feel the energy already. Just do it!
What helps cheer you up when you’re a little down? Do you ever start a project and realize that maybe you’ve bitten off more than you can chew? Has illness taken over your life? Ever feel like giving up on something?
Word of the day: Horology
Fun fact about me: I’m just doing it! Ready or not.

Congratulations on being back on your feet, even if a little less steady than before. I admire your courage and resolve, Patricia. Be the Energizer Bunny. Just keep going.
I’ve never dealt with an illness such as yours or protracted treatments like chemo or radiation. I guess my worst, so far as lingering is concerned, was the leg injury from last fall’s car wreck that took me a little over 3 months to put behind me – but compared to your situation, mine was more an inconvenience.
Forget horology and just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

David, I am indeed forgetting horology and putting one foot in front of the other. It’s so nice to be able to get through a day and feel like I’ve actually accomplished something besides resting. Resting was good and it’s what I needed, but now, I’m kicking butt.
I know your leg injury took you out for awhile, but I’m glad that’s behind you. Any kind of injury to your body takes a toll. Here’s to improved health and energy for both of us.
Thanks for visiting. Happy energetic Monday!

Awww, that little girl is so precious, and what a great pep talk for a cold and snowy (in my part of the world) Monday morning. 🙂
I’ve suffered from severe depression caused by physical and mental exhaustion, but thanks to a wonderful naturopath, I recovered completely within a two year time span.
I have faith in you, lovely girl, that you’ll get there too. Sending you hugs!

That little girl did indeed make me smile. She’s a cutey and has some good encouraging advice. Sometimes that what we all need.
I’m glad you’ve put the depression behind you. That’s not something that’s easy to overcome. Good for you. Onward and upward to both of us!
Thanks for visiting and for the hugs.

Hooray to getting on the road to everyday normal and checking things off that list! I love having lists and it’s such a great feeling to cross things off…plus, I think any big project can be accomplished easier when using a list of baby steps to slowly whittle it down, especially those really daunting projects. Keep on purging and plugging along, girl! I’m sure your guests appreciate that you’re back in the kitchen. 🙂

Well, Coleen, our guests have been taken care of by my wonderful husband. He’s been the chief cook and bottle washer for quite awhile now. It’s time I resumed my duties. Of course, a lot of days I’d prepare a casserole or get a jump start on breakfast the night before so it wasn’t quite the chore it might have been in the morning, but he was a trooper. Nobody complained. (Except him. Only a little bit.)
I also enjoy having lists of small things that are east to accomplish. It makes me feel like I’m doing something. Eventually it all gets done. And, I’m the kind of person who will attack the large thing first and save the small chores for later, but not always, Sometimes it makes me feel better to cross off 5 things from the list rather than that 1 large thing. Depends on the day.
Thanks for being a great pal. I appreciate seeing my supporters every week.

So glad to see you’re starting to feel better! Your positive attitude sure can’t hurt – keep it up! (both the positivity and getting better)
I am always taking on more than I can do. ALWAYS. Like thinking I’ll finish my book while working on that flip house, smh.
My characters deal with horology a lot. I did not know that word before, so thanks! Maybe I’ll get a chance to use it in my WIP , once I get back to it.

I’m with you Jennette on the WIP. It feels like years since I’ve touched this story. It needs to be introduced to the world. I’m so glad I’m finally able to spend some time with it to dress it up before I send it out. Stay tuned for news about that. I know you’ll get back to yours when the time is right.
You took on a HUGE project with moving, flipping a house, a horrible winter and your medical issues as well. It’s a wonder you have any energy left at all. I know you do what I do, just keep plugging away and listen to your body. When it’s time to quit – quit.
I’m looking forward to seeing horology in a book somewhere. It’s a cool word.
Thank for stopping by. Have a great week!

I am happy for you. And encourage you to continuous progress. I truly understand all you has been going through and believe me is not an easy task to achieve. Thank you so much for give us strength and encourage us to continuous in our arduous daily routine of our life, no matter what.
I am going through a frozen shoulder since last October and at this point the progress has been very slow and painful and I have a long way to go still. All I have is hope and desire to get better some day.
Honestly while reading your post I got very emotional and start crying cause I feel all this pain and see beyond how others are in worst condition that I might be.. but everyone is a different case, but what counts here is emotions, feelings and caring for each others as human.
God bless you and give you the health and stamina for the rest of your life.
love, light, peace, life. Namaste

Oh my goodness. I had no idea you were dealing with this. I know frozen shoulder is very, very painful and the recovery can take quite awhile. Don’t try to rush it. Just listen to your body and your doctors. Do what you must but practice patience. It’ll heal.
Every day is a new battle but it’s also a new chance to show the world how strong and powerful we are. Let your beauty shine my friend. Stay focused. Stay positive. Stay strong. You’ve got this.
Thanks for visiting. I’m glad you were encouraged.
