This Thursday is Thanksgiving Day here in the United States. It’s a day to be with family, eat and reflect on everything in your life you’re thankful for. Oh, and football. It’s also a day dedicated to football.
While I enjoy having an entire day set aside to be mindful of all my blessings, I do believe thankfulness is something we should all strive to be more of each and every day. We are surrounded every day by wonderful things, many of which are taken for granted.
I challenge you, dear readers, to make it your goal from this day forward to find at least 1 thing every day to be thankful for. You don’t have to be a particularly religious person to appreciate the bounty of nature, the warmth of sunshine, the happy laughter of a baby, puppy breath, hitting every light green on your morning commute, and the list goes on and on.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. May your day be filled with delicious food, good company, and great football.
Word of the day: Materfamilias
Fun fact about me: Thanksgiving dinner should always include turkey.

There’s a lot of truth in that “riddle,” Al. Just add candy and it might even be the same people visiting.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well. Stay safe and gobble til you wobble.

Good idea, Patricia. I start every day thanking God for His blessings and His promises, and, among other things, lifting you and other cancer survivors up for God’s protection.

Thanks David. I certainly felt the outpouring of love from folks who wished me well during that ordeal. The battle continues, but at least I’m out of the proverbial woods. Just a matter of getting my energy, strength an stamina back. Then – book out world!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Sir.

Thank you Josy. (I hope it’s okay that I call you Josy. I’m not sure I actually know your real name.)
Keep on sharing your hiking tales. I look forward to traveling through cyber space to see where you’ve explored.

I always make a point to be thankful for little things (especially those green lights!). It keeps the focus on positive rather than negative, which the world could really use more of, right? Happy turkey day to you and yours!
