Spring is finally here with warm gentle breezes and blooming flowers everywhere. While the Mighty Mississippi River is still REALLY high here in Vicksburg, things are starting to feel cheery and optimistic. The winter doldrums are waning. Birds are building nests, bees are pollinating and life in general looks bright.
Along with this new season and new rebirth of Mother Nature, comes the birth of a new book!! I’m happy to announce that Book 2 in the Grounded Series will be making its way to a bookstore near you sometime in late April or early May.
Here’s what you can expect:
On Hallowed Ground is Noah’s story. You might remember Noah as Trevor’s unseen partner from On Common Ground. In that book Noah got shot in the head at a police sting operation gone wrong. Throughout Book 1 Trevor was always worried about his friend and partner. Book 2 takes up in the same area of Arizona about a year later after Noah’s recovery.
Unlike Book 1, this book has heavy emphasis on American Indian heritage, culture and spirituality. Although it is a work of fiction, I believe, through research and personal experience, that it accurately depicts the struggles and conflicts, corruption and injustices prevalent among many American Indian tribes today.
Here’s the premise:
Here’s the back cover blurb:
When a search for buried treasure turns deadly, BIA Tribal Liaison, Noah Pacheco, must decide if the native beauty who captured his heart is a killer or an innocent pawn in someone else’s deadly game. Medicine wheels, buried treasure, peyote, 2 dead bodies, and the woman of Noah’s dreams make for an exciting journey across the Arizona desert to capture a killer with a twisted agenda.
Here are the main players:
Here are the secondary players:
I don’t have a cover yet, but I did put together this short (kind of crappy) video with some cool music to let readers know what the tone of the story is. Be sure to turn up the volume for that added sensation.
While this book has more suspense than Book 1, it does not have as much romance (you’re welcome Al), although there is enough of a central love interest thread throughout the book to classify it as a romantic suspense. And, there’s a really bad guy.
So tell me, have I whet your appetite? Do you like to read books that have sequels? Do you prefer romantic suspense or straight romance? Any suggestions for making my cover blurb more appealing?
Word of the Day: Garniture
Fun fact about me: I’ve been going through my old scrap books from my trips to Arizona to look at the photos so as to get the descriptions right in my book.

Congrats on the upcoming release!
Once in a great while I’ll read a contemporary romance, but overall I much prefer my romance reading to have a suspense, historical or paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi element. Looking forward to reading your new one!
Fun fact about me: the garniture in my house is mostly dog statuettes. 😀

Jenette, I think you’ll really enjoy the next book. It’s much more suspenseful with lots of mystical realism elements. It was fun to research and write.
And, great use of the word of the day!!
Thanks for visiting today.
