Collectively the world has suffered through a pandemic of enormous portions. For the most part, everyone has taken precautions to stop the spread of this virus. Together we have made a difference.
Now, I don’t know about you guys, but I sort of feel like a grizzly bear just waking up from a long hibernation. I’m ready to go out into the world, stretch my legs and explore. Spring is well underway here in the South and the world is full of rebirth and promise.
While sheltering-in-place has posed some challenges, it hasn’t all been bad. A couple of weeks ago I blogged about the benefits of being quarantined. Today I’m happy to announce that while self-isolating, I also received some good news on the writing front. My book On Hallowed Ground was nominated for the illustrious 2020 RONE Award!
I submitted the book for review to InD’tale Magazine and received a rating of a 4.5 stars or higher. This qualifies it to continue to the reader voting phase. In this round, the readers – you guys – will be narrowing down the nominees for each genre by choosing the books you love best.
This is where you guys come in. I’m going to shamelessly beg ask you to please, please, please vote for me. This is the week my category (Suspense/Thriller) is up for voting. You can do your part to make a difference in my life.
It may be just a tad cumbersome, but I’d be eternally grateful for your efforts. Follow the instructions below on how to cast your vote:
“. . . they MUST be registered on our website at www.indtale.com in order to vote. Once they register, if they haven’t already, they will be required to click the verification link sent to them via email. If they do not verify their registration with this link, they will be unable to vote. This is very important to help ensure that the voting is fair and maintains the high-quality standards required for this top-tier award.”
Once the voting is final and the winning books announced, the finalists in each genre will then be read and judged by a group of professionals in the industry to determine the very best book in the indie and small published world! The winners will then be announced and awarded the prestigious RONE Award at the formal ceremony, October 10th, 2020 in Peoria, Illinois at the InD’Scribe Conference.
Wouldn’t it be cool if my name were announced as a winner at that conference? You – dear friends – can help make that happen.
Thank you everyone in advance for your support. Writing is a lonely, thankless job and authors appreciate the efforts of everyone who buys their books and lets the world know how much they enjoyed them. Voting in contests is just one way to show your support of a struggling author. Writing a review is another.
Tell me author friends, have you ever won a writing contest? Have you ever entered a book for review with InD’Tale Magazine? Any other suggestions for helping other authors out?

Thanks my friend. Things are started to open back up a little here in Vicksburg so I’m hoping it won’t be too long now and people will start venturing out again. Fingers crossed anyway.
Thanks for your support. Have a great rest of the week.

Good morning, you sound great and full of enthusiasm! I am still UP North by the lake and there is an actual bear in the woods – she makes an appearance every so often, but we don;t dare go near her because she has two cubs. I think I can identify. This lock down has whacked a lot of us and I plan to travel to northern Mississippi to see my step-mom when school’s out…. but who knows what the conditions will really be like. Would love a side trip V-burg, but only if it’s possible. Take care and keep up the amazing attitude! Peace.

Clay, I would love to see you, maybe have lunch or something. Some counties were harder hit than others. Warren County, where I am, has seen relatively few cases. Things are opening back up this week and more will follow next week so I’m hoping we’ll start to see some recovery pretty soon. I still don’t have any guest reservations until July, but we’re hanging in there.
Let me know if you’re planning on coming this way.
Have an awesome weekend!! Stay away from the bears.
