On occasion in the past I have asked you guys for suggestions about what to blog about. Sometimes my creative well runs a little low and I find myself in need of some fresh ideas. A couple of times you nice folks have requested more information about the historic house I live in.
Since I aim to please, I’m granting your wish. About three weeks ago a friend of mine called and asked if she could do a series of short videos about The Baer House for her FB podcasts. They’re not really podcasts, but they sort of are, in a way. That’s the closest thing I could come up with to describe what she does. I guess maybe interviews is a better description. I don’t know what to call them.
In any event, she came over with her equipment and we visited for a while and she shot some video while I gave a modified version of our home tour. I modified it to include some of the amenities for the inn, in case interested persons happen to see it and want to book a stay. Normally our house tour lasts about 90 minutes. I had about 15 minutes max. I enjoy a good challenge.
So, without further ado, below are the three very short video clips. Enjoy!
Here’s the first one:
Episode 2:
Episode 3:
I’m going to let you in on a funny little secret. In all of these videos (which were shot one right after the other) my dress is on backwards. How did that happen? I’ll tell you. When Robyn first showed up to start the sessions, I had misunderstood what the meeting was for. I thought she was just using my house to interview other people (she sometimes does that). When she said that she was interviewing me and wanted me to give a tour of the house, I was not camera ready. I had to change my clothes, brush my hair, throw on some make-up and shoes.
I had just bought that dress and it was still hanging in my closet with the tag on it. I just grabbed it, ripped off the tag and pulled it over my head, not realizing that there is a front and a back. So, if you see what looks like my dress bunched up in my underwear in the back, that’s because the shorter hemline is supposed to be in the front, above my knees, instead of in the back. It looks funny when you know it’s on backwards. Anyway, there you go. Funny story. Sometimes I’m an idiot.

I will have to watch these videos after work! And LOL about the dress–sounds like something I’d do. Hope it was fun anyway!

It was fun! I didn’t notice the dress until the second video when I caught a glimpse of my backside. I wondered what the heck was going on with my dress. That’s when I realized my mistake. Oh well.
I hope you enjoy the tour. Thanks for stopping by.

I haven’t had time to watch all the videos yet (on my weekend plans!), but you pull off a backwards dress fabulously – I couldn’t even tell!

Ha – thanks! I feel stupid now that I know. At the time I was like “cool, I’m wearing my new dress.” I hope you enjoy the tour.
