The holiday crush is upon us. It’s time to pack on the pounds and dole out the dollars. With a mad dash here and a mad dash there, here a dash, there a dash, everyday a dash, dash. In other words, it’s the holidays. November and December are always such special months of the year. But ultimately, the hustle and bustle culminates in the sharing of relaxed meals with loved ones and cozy nights by the fire.
As you go about your holiday preparations, I’d like you all to take a moment and just breathe. Enjoy the spirit of the season. Find some quiet alone time to reflect and unwind. I especially encourage you to spend some time reading. Your body and brain will thank you.
And, speaking of being thankful, here’s a couple of special messages I came across, that I hope you’ll carry with you through the next few weeks.
I’d especially like to thank each and every one of my followers for staying interested in my content and posting uplifting and encouraging comments. Your support means a lot to me. I hope you’ll stick with me in 2022 as we all climb out of the covid slump we’ve slid into. THANK YOU and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Word of the Day: Macadam
Fun fact about me: I enjoy preparing the Thanksgiving Day feast. It’s my husband’s favorite meal – ever!

Wise words of advice! I always have the masses over to our house for Thanksgiving, so I’ll be cooking away too. Friday will be my read-and-relax day, and there will probably be wine involved. 🙂 Have a great turkey day!

I don’t mind cooking a feast as long as I don’t have to do it all the time. My husband LOVES Thanksgiving food. It’s his favorite meal of the entire year so of course I have to fix it the same way every year. The only thing I can do different is the dessert. So long as there’s dessert, I’m okay. I hate all the clean-up and dealing with the leftovers. Oh well, it’s only once a year right?
I’d expect there to be wine and book reading on Friday. I’ve been stockpiling Christmas books and refuse to start reading them until Friday. I’ve already succumbed to the Hallmark Christmas movies, but I’m saving the books for after Thanksgiving.
Enjoy your holiday! Enjoy your family! Enjoy your feast!

Happy thanksgiving my friend!
Saturday I went out to our old stomping grounds. (Fair Play) I had a wine club pick with Fleur de Lys. I haven’t been out there for years. I thought of all the good times we had there. Sometimes far to good of a time.
Boy has it changed. Wineries have sold or changed names, New wineries. I didn’t recognize many. But I did recognize’Iverson’.
Blessings to you and Corey

Hey there – good to “see” you. I was wondering about “our” wineries especially since the fire was so close to there this year. I’m sorry to hear that some of them are no longer around. Does Toogood still have the caves? I miss their port.
Iverson was always one of the best ones (in my opinion) and Fleur deLys was a good stop as well. Enjoyed the food pairings each visit.
Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Patricia – I am THANKFUL for so much this year. You, Corey, and the Baer House are one of the many blessings for which I thankful! Our Thanksgiving preparation was all day at a constant pace and the meal was over in an hour and we were full. So much for which to be thankful! Peace.

I’m so glad Clay. We all need those moments of comfort and security that come from being around the people you love, the people who let you just be yourself and love you anyway. I’m glad you had a great day.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Missed this somehow. Thank you for the well wishes and right back at ya. As always, it has been a delight to correspond with you from afar again this year. We seem to have so many similarities in our “mode de vive.” Looking forward to more in 2022!
P.S. The word of the day is one of the rare times I knew it!!

I’m glad you stopped by despite being “late.” My blog never closes so you’re good. And, I’m really late responding. Been out of town for some much needed R&R.
Let’s keep the friendship going into 2022!!
