I know. It’s only June. But the book I’ve been promising, the one set around Christmas time, that should have been released near the end of the year holidays, is almost ready to be released. I’m bummed that I missed the Christmas release, and the Valentine’s Day release, and the mother’s day release, but, hey, it is what it is. The book just wasn’t ready.
But, soon . . . very, very soon, it will be. I’ve decided to use a new book publishing program and there has been a learning curve but in the long run, I think I’m going to be happier. And, now that I’m getting familiar with it, the next book in the series should go much faster once I get past the editing phase. Fingers crossed.
So, without further ado, here is the book cover and the teaser for Book One in the Family Ties Series: The Ties That Bind. Thanks to Jan for the series title suggestion and everyone who had input regarding the story and cover design.
Here’s a little teaser:
That’s it for this week. Stay tuned for more exciting book news and teasers in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, how do you fellow writers handle set-backs for your anticipated release dates? Any ideas for how to market a Christmas book in the summer?
I’ve got more exciting things planned for the year that only my newsletter followers will know about. I promise you’ll only get 6 newsletters for the entire year, so I won’t clutter up your inbox. Word of the Day: Obloquy
Fun fact about me: I always think the editing phase of the writing process will go faster than the actual writing. It never does.

Congratulations on nearing the finish line for this book. Glad I could help out with the idea for the series title … can’t wait to read all the books in this new series.

Thanks Jan. I hope they are well received. I’ve sort of lost interest in this project because it’s taking so long but the end is near. Fingers crossed anyway.
Thanks for checking in. Have a great rest of the week.

Ooh, love the cover and the trailer! Similar story with my next book – it’s centered around Halloween, so I was hoping for an October release, but due to *issues*, it’s being released in January instead. Ah, well. What I love about marketing books with holidays, every year near that holiday is a great excuse to promote, so even if the release timing isn’t ideal, you still have the upcoming holiday to use year after year.

I will definitely jump on the Christmas marketing bandwagon. Especially since folks start shopping so early nowadays anyway. Christmas isn’t really that far away.
I’ll look for your new book. I don’t remember seeing anything about it, but that might just mean I’ve slowed down on my efforts to stay in the know.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great rest of the week.

Congrats on the upcoming release! Looking forward to reading it!
I don’t set release dates any more. Which is a good thing, given that I haven’t had a release since 2016 haha. I’m still working on one, I swear!

Slow and steady gets the job done just as well as hot and fast. You do you.
