Hello and happy Boxing Day! I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and that you are safe in your homes and snug as bugs in rugs. The weather has been frightful almost everywhere and I truly hope you all made it safely to your destinations. But, if not, I hope you made the best of the unexpected situation and that Santa Claus found you anyway. He’s known for that.
This post is bittersweet as it will be my last, not only for 2022, but for every Monday from here on out. As of today, I have published 520 blog posts since 2011. I’ve blogged about all kinds of things. I’ve gained and lost followers for one reason or another. I’ve had fun blogging and I’ve found it a pain in the butt on occasion. I’ve learned and grown in the process. But, as this year draws to a close, so does my adventure in blogging. I have reached a point where I must make a few changes in my time management in order to accomplish all the things I want to accomplish.
I’ve decided to streamline my content and focus more on sending out newsletters that relate mostly to my career as an author. My goal is to send out a monthly newsletter and to supplement those with random blogs as information reveals itself to me.
It seems as though I get the most blog traffic and interactions when I blog about my adventures in innkeeping. Therefore, I may, on occasion, put up a blog post that relates to fun or interesting stories about my life as an innkeeper. After all, I do meet some pretty unusual people who quite frequently do odd or stupid things that simply need to be talked about.
So, while I’m not giving up entirely on blogging, you can expect to see fewer posts from me next year. I’m sure your Monday mornings will be a little less bright as a result, but a woman must do what a woman must do.
Now, if you wish to stay in touch, you may contact me via my website: www.jansenschmidt.com or you can find me on various social media channels and hunt me down that way.
If you have not already done so, I encourage you to sign up for my newsletter. Here’s the link for that: http://bit.ly/JansenSchmidtNewsletter
And finally, as we glide into the last week of 2022, I hope you all have wonderful adventures in 2023. I hope you make lasting memories. I hope you remember to be kind and to take care of yourselves. And, most importantly, I hope we can continue to be friends despite our differences and geographical distances. I hope we continue to learn from one another.
It has been humbling, fun, and enjoyable getting to know a lot of you a little better through the wonder known as cyberspace. I have enjoyed interacting with you and sharing little tidbits about myself with you. For those of you who have taken the time to reach out across the miles either via phone, text, or email, or even automobile, thank you for going that extra mile, some of you literally (ahem, Clay).
So, without further ado, I bid you all farewell from the blogging front. But, don’t delete me just in case that awesome occasional post makes its may into your inbox. I bid 2022 adieu and look forward to 2023.
Word of the Day: Setose
Fun fact about me: Speaking of good-bye, since I took over ownership of the inn in 2015, I have learned how to say good-bye in over 20 languages.

I will miss your blods, but I totally get it (as someone who stopped blogging a couple years back). Good luck and see you on Facebook!

Ugh, that’s supposed to be “blogs.”

Thanks Jennette. It will be a relief not to have to worry about getting content out every single week. But, I will miss regular contact from those who regularly comment. I know I’ll see them around in other social media forums though.
It has been so nice seeing your comments over the years. I hope you’ll check out my newsletter to stay in touch with the writing side of my life.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas and best wishes for a prosperous new year!

Patricia, I understand your why. I admire your your focus of maintaining a weekly post, I’ve tried and failed at that. Trying to balance work, career, and family and add in writing and blogging and your cup will overflow. I’ll miss your weekly posts but I’ll still see you on Facebook and maybe again in Vicksburg, who knows. Thanks for the shoutout, and Merry Christmas and a happy new year! Peace.

Thanks Clay. I will certainly miss the weekly comments from my loyal followers but I’m pretty sure I know how to stay in touch with the ones that matter through other cyberspace venues. I already have a sense of relief knowing I won’t have to pressure myself this week with coming up with blog content for next week.
I hope your holiday was enjoyable and that the new year brings nothing but goodness and happiness your way. Thanks for your friendship. You are welcome in Vicksburg any time.

Thank you for your kind words and your support over the years. I’ll still be on the same social media sites so you’ll see me there. And I’m hoping the newsletter will take off. I’m getting more proficient at those now too so they should be easier to send out.
I’m looking forward to your new book!
Here’s to the best of all things wonderful in the new year!!

Happy New Year, Patricia! It was nice to see you today and that you’re still at it. I had a slow blogging year, which continued right through January, like Al and me! LOL!
