So, my family has been battling the stomach flu for several days this past week. My husband had it first. He complained of upset stomach and didn’t want to eat anything for 3 days. He had stomach-flu-like symptoms without actually being “sick.”  Me, on the other hand, sick, sick, sick. I haven’t been this sick since I was treating with chemotherapy. Some of you already know that my family has grown by three. Last week we adopted three new kitties from our local humane society. We would have taken the entire lot home, but alas, three was all we could comfortably be responsible for. It’s so tough when you visit animal shelters because you want to rescue everything there. But the reality is, three cats in one confirmed space is the perfect amount of cats. Plus there is the added costs of properly caring for them, which greatly hinders one’s decision when adopting.

I’ve had a hard couple of weeks. Some of you know, my super sweet, almost 15-year-old Labrador Retriever, Sherlock, had to be put to rest on the 11th of October. It was one of the hardest days of my life. I’ve never had to make THAT decision before. Here’s a picture of him in his glory days.

It’s all about piddling around sometimes. It shouldn’t be, but it is. I can waste so much time piddling around doing nothing.
