Folks, we all know there’s a lot of negativity floating around the world today. It’s everywhere and social media is a super powered magnet for anyone to state their biased opinions without showing their faces to another human being. It’s cowardly if you think about it. (more…)

A big shout out to everyone who’s graduating or knows someone who’s graduating. Congratulations!! Graduating, be it from high school, college, or Kindergarten, is a huge deal. It’s a progression from one thing to something bigger and better. The commencement of a new chapter in the lives of those fortunate enough to have completed requirements necessary to advance.

Not to be a downer, but here’s a little secret to graduates everywhere: School never ends. As Kid President says, “We are all students and we are all teachers.”

And, because I love him so much, and I cannot relay information the way he can, here’s a message from Kid President to graduates of life. Enjoy!

Now get out there and dance!

How about you readers, what have you learned today? What lesson do you want to pass along to others? What’s the greatest piece of advice you can give for anyone graduating into the next phase of their life? Inquiring minds want to know.

Late last year I happened upon the coolest kid on the planet – Kid President. I’ve posted a couple of his videos in the past and I think it’s time for another round, so put on your dancing shoes and get ready to boogie.

And guys in particular pay attention to numbers 7 and 5.

So, what’d’ya say? Can we all try being a little nicer this year? I’m game. And I’ll go first: I appreciate all of you, my dear readers and wish you nothing but success this year. Now it’s your turn, and remember,  if you can’t think of something nice to say, you’re not thinking hard enough. (I love that!)

This post is dedicated to my wonderful mother, who left this earth on January 11, 2008, after a very long battle with two forms of cancer.

On this day in 1939 my beautiful mother was born, the last child of seven, to a farmer and his ailing wife. She spent the first 30 years of her life in Minnesota, where she married and gave birth to 2 children. In 1969 she moved with her family to Placerville, California, where she spent her remaining 39 years.

She was my friend, my confidante and so much more. And, because I think this kid is just too darn cute, I’m posting another video from Kid President in honor of my mother and all of my friends who have known the joys of motherhood. I hope you enjoy.

Happy birthday, mom. I love you and miss you so very much. My life was profoundly changed with your passing. You shall never be forgotten.

Word of the day:  Ovolo

Fun fact about me:  I like pickles on my tacos.
