Last week was a very long, very overwhelming, and very frustrating week. It seems like every single thing was a struggle. Electronics weren’t working the way they were supposed to, guests weren’t acting the way they normally do, jars wouldn’t open, knives wouldn’t cut, food wouldn’t cook, life was just one giant curve ball. Nothing was easy.

I think by now, most of you know I try to be upbeat and positive whenever possible. I try to find the sunshine on the dreary days and I look for the good among the bad. I’m not gonna lie, this past year has tested my ability to focus on the good. Some days it feels like the hits just keep on coming and not in a good way. But, hopefully things are starting to turn around and the world is heading back toward “normal.”

We’re all getting older whether we like it or not. Every day brings us one step closer to death. I know that sounds morbid, but it’s the truth. Reality is, our date of birth is actually the day we start dying. That’s why every single day should be considered a gift. A chance to experience life to its fullest. Every morning when we open our eyes, we are given the gift of another day. Another step toward the grave. Another opportunity to do good, to embrace the blessings around us, and to boldly walk toward the pearly gates.

anxiety memeSo many people are reeling, angry, and despairing these days. It’s no wonder. We’ve all been thrown into a situation that we’ve never been in before. It’s extremely disorienting, confusing and challenging in many ways. In the face of intense and prolonged stress, this new syndrome has emerged. But don’t despair, there’s a cure and hope. (more…)

When I was writing my most recent release, On Hallowed Ground, I knew pretty early on that I had to write Gage and Qiana’s story. They are secondary characters in that book, but both of them grew into real people in my mind as I was working on that manuscript. As time went on, those characters developed their own personalities, which were not explored in great depth in Noah and Fallon’s story. (more…)

So, the daily grind has pretty much come to a screeching halt. Life as we’ve known it has changed. At least temporarily. And yet, life goes on. (more…)

HappyHello friends. This week I’m out in the world focusing on the good, trying to be the best possible version of myself that I can be. I’m exploring and refilling my creativity well. Nothing like a little adventure to lift your spirits and clear your head right?

But, because you all know I’m a giver, I’m not going to leave you hanging here with nothing this week. You’ve come to expect greatness, silliness and just plain weirdness from me so I’m not going to disappoint now.

Since you took the time to click on over here to the Edge of Eternity, I encourage you to talk amongst yourselves, share your own positive energy in the comments below and enjoy this amazing video.

Until next week, remember: You are your greatest investment. Take care of yourselves. Be kind to yourself and others. Be the best version of yourself you can be.

How do you spread kindness? Any words of advice to keep the positivity flowing? I’d love to hear about your daily devotionals or what inspires you.

Word of the Day: Zax

Fun fact about me: Every day I drink at least 2 cups of unsweeted green tea. Not sure how “fun” that is, but it’s definitely a fact.

As you all should know by now, I’m sort of a Disney nut. I’d like to think of myself as a Disney aficionado but, whenever I attend any Disney trivia-type things I NEVER score well, so I guess that only makes me a Disney nut. But, I’m okay with that. (more…)

car engineWell folks, it’s that time of year for me – time for all of my annual check-ups. When I was younger, this was something old people did, not me. I guess that makes me officially – old. But, it’s important to get tune-ups as we age. Stuff starts to break down and degenerate from all the wear and tear of life. Preventative medicine goes a long way in this day and age. (more…)

baseball trophyLife is a lot like baseball. I’m not a fan of baseball really, although I did play little league when I was around 12 or so. It was fun. I played second base. I was pretty good. Our team took the second-place trophy the year I played. (I still have my trophy.) I’d like to think it was because of me, but really it was because of our short stop. She was really good. She was the reason we won many of our games. Baseball used to be a normal childhood thing for me. (more…)
