Computers are so commonplace these days; everyone has one. A lot of folks have more than one. We’ve become a society so dependent on our computers that we often forget how to do things without the assistance of artificial intelligence. Like spelling. Most computers will either automatically correct your spelling or, at the very least, highlight misspelled words so that you can click on it and see how to fix it without even knowing how to fix it yourself. Lazy. Lazy is what that is.

As a writer I spend copious amounts of time researching. Yes that’s right. Even though I write fiction, there are things that still have to be researched because, unless I’m writing about a completely made-up world, people are going to know if I’m not describing a person, place or thing correctly. Ergo – research.

spring in VicksburgSpring is finally here with warm gentle breezes and blooming flowers everywhere. While the Mighty Mississippi River is still REALLY high here in Vicksburg, things are starting to feel cheery and optimistic. The winter doldrums are waning.
