I’m being lazy this week. Well, not lazy so much as strapped for time. It’s been a busy week and in my “spare” time I’ve been relaxing because I’m exhausted by the time I have “spare” time. And, by relaxing, I mean, I clean out the dishwasher, fold the laundry, set the table for breakfast, and make dinner for my family. Those are my “relaxing” chores. I don’t actually have time to fully relax by definition of the word.
But, in an effort to provide you all with the exciting blog posts you’ve grown accustomed to having from me on Mondays, I’m providing you with a photo journey of a fairly recent vacation my husband and I were able to enjoy. (Yes, I did truly relax on vacation. It was heavenly.)
Please enjoy the Southern Caribbean.
We’ll start our adventure at Philipsburg, St Maarten. We toured the island by land and sea. There were some HUGE yachts and gorgeous homes in the bay where we cruised on our party boat. It was hard to photograph from the bus so there’s only 1 picture of the land portion of our excursion.
Our next stop is Castries, St. Lucia. Another glorious day with an amazing beach at Rodney Bay.
Next up: Bridgetown, Barbados for another day of relaxing on a white sand beach, Brownes beach to be exact.
After a day at sea, we docked at Basseterrre, Saint Kitts and from there took a ferry boat to the smaller island of Nevis where we had a fantastic tour of some really cool old buildings including a fort and the oldest church on the island, all topped off with a dip in the REALLY hot spring baths and an amazing lunch at Pinney Beach. (I was really hungry so I didn’t think to photo my meal until after I’d eaten it.) Here’s a blurb about the church: The first Anglican Church in the Caribbean, and the oldest church on Nevis, St. Thomas’ was built in 1643. It is located on the main road about three miles north of Charlestown, and was built to serve the town of Jamestown, the island’s original capital that disappeared.
And our last stop before heading home was St. Johns, Antiqua, probably my favorite port. We had the most amazing day at the beach with a lovely lunch. Despite the rogue rain showers, we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel at Green Bay. Because there was intermittent rain showers, we had the entire private beach to ourselves. I mean, truly ourselves, just me and Corey. Look at the pictures. No people. Everyone else stayed inside.
I hope you enjoyed this photo journey of my most recent cruise aboard the Celebrity Silhouette.

Great photos … thanks for sharing! That seems much more relaxing than folding laundry, setting the breakfast table, cooking dinner, etc!

Cruising is certainly a lot more fun than running an inn. Much more relaxing. We spent a lot of time on the beach this past trip than we normally do. I think both of us just needed to sit and do nothing for a bit. It worked.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a little cyber vacation.

It was a wonderful – much needed – getaway. We felt spoiled the entire time.
I’m loving the fresh breezes, floral scents wafting through my office as we speak.
Thanks for stopping by my skeptical friend.

That looks like such a great trip! Two years ago, I went on a short Mexico cruise with my mom, sister and nieces – it was a lot of fun. I hope we both get to find some relaxing days ahead!

Something about cruising for me is relaxing. It’s not like you need to be in a hurry to go anywhere. There’s only so far you can go before you hit the end of the ship. Makes you slow down and enjoy the view. We had some amazing ports on this cruise. I’d really like to go visit those islands again. So much better than the ABC Islands on the other side of the sea.
I hope to also have more relaxing days ahead. I need to just schedule them.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful rest of the week
