There’s a first for everything and a couple of weeks ago was my first time. I’ve got to say, it was a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend it. That’s right, it was my first time and I’m sharing it with you guys! You’re welcome.
Get your minds out of the gutter. You know who you are. It was my first time being interviewed for a podcast! What did you think I was talking about? Anyway, TODAY, the interview airs! I am one of the featured authors on The Author’s Show, talking about my new release On Solid Ground with a splash of life as an innkeeper thrown in. I hope you’ll spend fifteen minutes or so and listen!

I believe I’m on channel two. Scroll down until you see my name or my book title or the cover image or all three and click to listen.
The delightful Linda Thompson was my interviewer and she made me feel very comfortable and at home. Of course, it helped that I truly was – at home – but you know what I mean. It was weird talking to my computer but hey, these are the times we live in right?
This podcast will run on The Author’s Show website for a full 24-hours but if you miss it today you can find it in the archives for on-demand playback using the link above or on The Author’s Show YouTube channel. (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChpSire56cfOZVaidEANF7w)
Pssst – I’ll also have it posted on my website – on the news page – so you can find it there in a couple of days. www.jansenschmidt.com/news
So, that’s it for this week. I hope you’ll have a listen and let me know what you think about the interview. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments section below if you have any. There are also links to purchase my books if I’ve sold you on this newest story.
And, as always, thanks for your support.

Fun fact about me: I don’t like hearing my recorded voice. I never have.

Can’t wait to listen (as soon as I change clothes; it’s pretty dirty down there in the gutter).

OK, I’m back. I tuned in to the podcast….very well done. I have a compliment for you. As someone who is hearing impaired, I don’t often listen to podcasts unless they are closed captioned, which most aren’t. Yours wasn’t either. But your speaking voice is excellent. You don’t talk too fast and your enunciation is well above average. I understood well over 90 percent of your speech. I could only manage about 50 percent of the host’s speech. Have a great week!

Thanks Al. I guess all that stage work and voice lessons paid off. We used to have impromtu vocal warm-ups that included talking for 30 seconds without saying “um,” or “ah.” It’s really hard to do when you’re not reciting lines. Try it sometime. Ask your wife or child to tell you everything they know about _____ (whatever topic) and see how many times they use “um” or “ah.”
I tried to remember those sessions when I was interviewed. And vocal warm-ups usually include tongue twisters so enunciation becomes paramount.
Thanks for listening and for your support. Have a wonderful rest of the week.
