I’d like to take the credit for the poem below, but alas I cannot. In fact, my creative well has been a bit low lately and finding the right words to express what’s in my heart right now has not been easy. So, I spent some time on the internet trying to find the exact sentiment that I can share with you this holiday season.
So, I give to you, my loyal blog followers, the words of Kay Hoffman, (as published by SouthernLiving.com.)
The gifts I’d leave beneath your tree,
Aren’t those that you can touch or see,
No toys meant just for pointless play,
But gifts to bless you every day.
The gift of friendship warm and true,
Is one that I would leave for you.
Good health and happiness and cheer
To keep you smiling through the year.
The gift of peace that comes from God,
With prayer to guide each path you trod.
And when your heart has lost its song
The gift of hope to cheer you on.
These are the gifts I’d leave for you.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to you my friend. (I hope you were spared any damage from the recent apocalyptical tornado that swept through your area. Scary stuff.)

Awww – thanks Jan. It’s pretty dang cold here today as well. Two days ago it was 81; today it’s 45. Yoyo weather for our 2021 Christmas. Sort of makes sense with the year we’ve had. Nothing makes sense.
Merry Christmas and warm hugs to you and Rick.
